Bonus from RCL. Thanks. Paired with stuffed peppers collard greens and ciabatta bread. Pours brownish with a tan head. Nose is sweet with a touch of toffee. Taste is sweet and rich with a touch of chocolate malt and some nutty qualities. Decent to say the least. njbfr (105), New Jersey, USA

Restrained nutty malt flavor balanced with slight hop bite. Has a slight tang in the back of the cheeks. A toasted, crackery finish. A middle of the road nut brown ale. nickd717 (1374), Palo Alto, California, USA

It was pretty good, but a little too run-of-the-mill. Brown color with almost no head. Aroma and flavor are malty and nutty. Medium-bodied. Slightly hopped. Decent, but in a whole different class from, say, AleSmith Nautical Nut Brown. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Aroma was mostly toasted malts and maybe a hint of hops, but not much. The flavor was mainly straight maltiness, but had a weird cherry fruityness that I didn’t like. Nothing completely offensive with this one, but not much right with it either. ElDuderino (142), Roslindale, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours a mostly opaque brown body with a reddish hue at the edges and a tall soft tan head. Nose is roasty and nutty with some sweet bread notes. The pallate is light and slighty thin and feels almost metallic. Flavor is front loaded with roasty nutty malts and a pleasant dry baking powder flavor. Sugar cookie dough almost. The flavors quickly fade and turn watery and undecernable. Would make a nice dinner beer depending on what the pairing is.
