Commercial Description:
Tröegs Rugged Trail Ale is a unique rendition of a classic English Brown. It has a deep bronze color, rocky head, and prominent Fuggle hop aroma. Toasted amber and Chocolate malts impart a "Nutty" richness and creamy velvet texture.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, and so is the flavor, but added light notes of nuts, leading to a dry end. Tasty for the style.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, dark, orangey brown with a creamy, beige head. Lightly burned caramel aroma. Rather thin and watery body, some burned caramel and roasted malt and a hint of fruit. But fairly dry without any real bitterness. Quite drinkable though. 280507

A pleasant beer, but nothing special. Deep red-brown hue capped by minimal foam. The aroma is mild, buttery English hoppiness. The flavor is more to the malty side, nutty and toasty, than hoppy. Mild aftertaste.

Poured a dark reddish-brown with a very small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, nuts and light spices. Tastes of nuts with chocolate undertones. Smells better than it tastes (I expected more after initially smelling the beer).
