Thanks to Mike for the bottle (as Scratch 12)! Poured milky golden with an easily-resuscitated beige head. The aroma picked up pineapple and floral hoppage over soft bread and caramel notes.. quite soft overall with a very nice spicy kick on the back. The flavor opened with tart pineapple and woodsy notes that rolled into the bready core.. pineapple, catty, and pine bitterness surrounded (but were slightly muted with age).. finished with citrus and almost vinegary tartness. Medium-bodied with just enough carbonation to keep it moving.. great elements here, but I wish I had it a year ago.

Bottle shared by kmweaver 6/28/08: Pours a transparent golden with a stringy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet pale malts and fresh resiny grapefruity hops. Body starts fairly full with good carbonation and assertive hops balanced with a nice light sweetness before a crisp bittersweet finish. A nice IPA.

Bottle as Scratch 12 courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Pours a cloudy yellowish orange with a half finger white head that leaves decent lacing. The nose is malt and light citrus. The taste is caramel malt, tart citrus fruit and a bitter pine finish that lingers on the tongue for a while. Medium prickly body. Good stuff – thanks Jason!

My bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & garthicus -- courtesy of TheEpeeist. As Troegs Scratch 12. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with a small diminishing white head. Slightly stale aroma, a bit vegetal, along with peaches, more fruit and citrus hops. Flavour of fruit, sweet malt, citrusy hops, light spices and yeast. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle (12oz). Shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. As Troeg’s Scratch #12. Hazy gold pour with a large creamy off-white head. A frankly UGLY aroma to this - sour and vegetal, quite a mess. The taste wasn’t bad at all - pungent, plenty of resin/grapefruit bitterness, with simple, slightly juicy sweet malt backing. Decent body, quite astringent, average carbonation, and (in a good way) a long, pungent cat piss linger. Apart from the ugly aroma, this is a pretty decent IPA.

bottle shared by psprings... bright sunshine colored yellow has a bit of haze and a soft white head with lots of spotty lacing. it smells really fruity... grapefruit, peach and orange pith with some caramel and a light bitterness. the flavor is rather pith-y as well but obviously well past it’s prime as it lacks a punch or any real hoppy dryness. it’s pleasant nonetheless with notes of flowers and caramel with a spicy finish. it is medium bodied with a nice creamy texture and surprisingly dry mouth feel. 6/3/6/4/15/3.4
