1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Sep 3, 2009 Thanks Jason for sharing. The beer pours to a nice lightly hazy orange copper body with a thin white head. The aroma is autumn leaves and maple buns. The flavor is sweet maple buns and nougat with a light typical o-fest malt. The palate is medium bodied and mouth watering. I thought this was a pretty solid o-fest. Ughsmash (3981), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Aug 28, 2009 Thanks to Rich for the bottle. Poured medium orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasty caramel, hay, and some darker fruit with sweeter vanilla on top.. just a hint of earthy hops remained.. quite pleasant. The flavor had the same caramel and vanilla at the core, picking up bready character.. a little dry earthy bitterness around.. mostly sweet on the finish. Lighter-bodied with solid balance on the palate.. slightly tangy and sweet, with good play between the two. This was aiight. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Apr 7, 2009 12oz. from Educators’ BIF. Pours hazy brown-yellow with a white head. Nose is malt, lager, yeast, grass, and some grainy/ cereal notes. Flavor is malt, bread, and caramel sweetness. Nice, easy-drinking, and light-bodied. Enjoyable for the style. lithy (1600), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Mar 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to machfive55. Gushed slightly upon opening and gives a slightly hazy light orange body with finger of creamy off white head that dies quickly. Lightly sweet and spicy typical Marzen malt aroma. Some vegetal notes. The body is a slightly bitter caramel maltiness. Grassy. Not much else going on. BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 25, 2009 Brewed in the USA.....Courtesy of AFI96 thanks waylo !! Pours a lite amber color with a thin white head. Aroma of spices, caramel, and malts. Taste of warm bread, sweet malts, mild hops and citrus notes. The mouthfeel is pleasant and easy to drink. checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 16, 2009 Bottle: Poured a copper color with a little bit of head. The aroma was malts and hops. The flavor was sweet malt and a hint of malts. Overall, just an average Oktoberfest beer. Pastor (509), Maine, USA Jan 10, 2009 Bottle poured into a pint glass produced a finger worth of tan head that trailed off to nothing. All this was on top of a clear copper colored body brew.
Aromas of bread, malts and a light hop’s filled my nose. The flavor that was the most pronounced was the sweet malt not to much bitter .Not to the place where I would call it sticky sweet but sweeter than most Octoberfest’s. I also picked up some nuttiness in it as well. Typical larger mouthfeel smooth easy drinking a great representation of the style and another fine brew from Tröegs.
Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Jan 6, 2009 Pours amber with a thin white head. Smells toasty and nutty with some earthy hints. Tastes earthy and caramelly with some spicy hints on the finish. Breaddy mouthfeel.
