Commercial Description:
Scratch 13-2008 is all about tradition. This copper lager is reminiscent of what you would find under one of those mammoth tents in Munich this time of year.

A rich trio of Pils, Munich and Vienna malts combined with the light bitterness of noble hops creates this traditional lager beer. We left this one unfiltered to bring out a slight yeast flavor.

Strap on your lederhosen!
  • O.G.: 12.4 Plato
  • I.B.U.’s: 19
  • Malt: Pils, Munich, Vienna
  • Yeast: House Lager
  • Hops: English Pilgrim, Hallertau

Bottle from capones. Pours a copper amber body with a thin white head 1 finger or less. Musky pilsner lagered notes. Sweet dusty hop resin. Some light caramel malt. Crisp with a note of fruity esters. A note of honey, grass, and bready.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours out a mostly clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma is of sweet malts with slight bitterness. Taste is sweet, slight fruit notes and some bitter grassy hops going on in there also. A decent example of an average style.

bottle. thanks mike. light hazy copper pour with thin soapy head. fresh aroma of sweet malts, hops, mild spice and fruity. light and very drinkable. apple, light sweet malting, yeast, corn. A lot like a pils in flavor with heftier malts and apple.

Bottle from Capone’s. Clear copper body with a thin white head. Very light buttery and cardboard aroma with some caramel, bread, and yeast. The taste is clean and crisp yet full bodied. Seems a bit oxidized with some butter and cooked veggies, but overall very east drinking and flavorful. Not bad for the style, but a bit run of the mill.

Golden color with a medium head. Aroma is quite malty and sweet with some light honey, bread, and mild citrus notes. Flavor is quite bready and sweet - lots of honey and some light hops. Solid finish. A very nice Oktoberfest brew!
