| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Has a light haziness, orange honey color, small off-white head. Nose is somewhat twangy at first, then some creamed orange, melon, sweet corn, maybe a little bit of burnt sweet corn. Medium to full body, surprisingly frothy. Somewhat papery and bland across the middle, bland but not terrible. Not sure what to think of it, there’s just a little bit of the marzen aspect that comes across in the finish, just a little bit of sweet corn and husky grains, some bready malts in the back… some chewiness, but equaled in quietness by a mild fruit melon/orange flavor. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Comes across almost as a Belgian golden light ale... I could probably drink a few of these easy, but if I want a marzen I think I’d choose something else. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Pours chill hazy dark straw with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is malt, hops, tart citrus, spicy cobwebby esters, some florals. Tastes very malty, earthy, with caramel, some hops, some florals, orange marmalade. Lacks the palate heft and malt bill to be considered anything more than a run-of-the-mill Marzen. Ernest (4515), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (caramel, cookie), lightly yeasty (basement), with light notes
of gum and baked apple.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Quite a snoozer...not much aroma, etc. Laughed when I heard it was supposed to be an Oktoberfest. Ughsmash (4099), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Thanks to Rich for the bottle. Poured medium orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up semi-sweet, toasty caramel, hay, and some darker fruit with sweeter vanilla on top.. just a hint of earthy hops remained.. quite pleasant. The flavor had the same caramel and vanilla at the core, picking up bready character.. a little dry earthy bitterness around.. mostly sweet on the finish. Lighter-bodied with solid balance on the palate.. slightly tangy and sweet, with good play between the two. This was aiight. Rciesla (3880), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Musky pilsner lagered notes. Sweet dusty hop resin. Some light caramel malt. Crisp with a note of fruity esters. A note of honey, grass, and bready. egajdzis (3645), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Poured a faintly hazy amber color with a medium sized, tight and creamy, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, toast, nuts, and a light floral hoppiness. Taste of toasty dough, a bit of sweeter caramel, grass, some diactyl (but appropriate) and a dry, yeasty finish. Nice and crisp, not overly sticky like some oktoberfests can be.
