Kind of reminds me of Hennepin in the nose. Flavor is loaded with peppery spices and yeast. Extremely quaffable. Excellent saison.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Sampled at tronraner’s Xmas Eve^3 tasting. Pours a clear light yellow with thin white head. Light citrus lemon aroma with some pepper spiciness, but not much. Flavor is bitter citrus and some grassiness. Moderate carbonation. I’m not a huge fan of this style, and this beer in particular didn’t really do it for me either. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 30, 2008 12 oz bottle thanks to CaptainCougar! Pours a mostly clear at first hayish golden with a nice thin foamy white head with some lace- then gets some wierd dirty floaty yeasties in suspension which I dont usually like. Aroma at first is somewhat dupont-ish with some lemon zest, citrus, a bit of dough and some orange cleanser then gets a bit more phenolic, some vanilla and even some fruity esters. Flavor is a nice straight up belgian ale but not really in the saison character- more leaning towards a doughy and fruity tripel character- ok sweetness in the midpalate, with a lot of fresh bread and dough which was ok, some earthy and leathery pepperyness, more phenolics and some orange zest combining with a somewhat dry finish. Looking at the description I can tell the Chouffe has taken most of the control of this beer. hopscotch (5528), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Bottle... Cloudy, pale yellow ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Decent retention. Yeasty, estery, phenolic aroma - banana, pear, clove and lemon peel. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Sweet, fruity and spicy. Mild bitterness provides proper balance. Lengthy, spicy, gently bitter finish. Rciesla (3791), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
