Commercial Description:
Scratch #14-2008 is our interpretation of a farmhouse ale—a once near-extinct winter-brewed (and summer–imbibed) Belgian ale. celebratory brew starts with a black pepper and ginger nose. The nicely carbonated brew releases a honey-malt flavor that gives way to a tart crisp finish that masks the elevated ABV. We use a blended yeast strain (Saison Dupont & Le Chouffe) to create the traditional peppery, spicy earthy flavors of the saison. Slight hints of ginger also come through in the finish. Drink it ‘til the wedding bells chime!

O.G.: 15.4 Plato
I.B.U.’s: 25
Malt: Pils, Munich, Vienna
Yeast: Belgian/Saison Blend
Juju: Ginger
Hops: English Pilgrim, Saaz

not too bad, seems like a well malted pilsner to me, good body with a bit of a subtle spice to it.

Aroma is tart with some pepper and a funkiness. pours a cloudy yellow with 2 fingers of foam but they dissipate quickly. Flavor is spicy with pepper, clove, some vanilla malt with some earthiness, tart in the finish. chewy palate that could be more spritzy in my opinion. overall a pretty nice saison.

Brewed in the USA !!! Courtesy of AFI96, thanks waylo !! Pours a hazy golden color with a fine white head. Tons of sediment !!! Aroma of tangy fruits and spices. The taste is of citrus, spices, cloves, and pepper. The mouthfeel is kind of watery that finishes on the dry side. Not sure how i feel about this one ?

draft- not my favorite style, but thought this was true to style- substantially spicey, delicate, with some good clove/funk flavors. Much better than their other belgian like offering- dream weaver wheat.

Wow what a beer. I think this came from beachbum25 and a HUGE thanks. Very cloudy yellowish color with a small whitsh head. Aroma is super yeasty, fruity and a bit spicy. Flavor is so smooth and yeasty. Some spices, some bread, wow....simply wow. The mouthfeel is amazing.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours out a slightly hazy straw color with a small off white head. Aroma is of yeast with some interesting spice and ester notes. Taste is well balanced, with a good amount of floral notes and spice, notes of ginger with a slightly bitter finish. Overall a very solid offering

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of spices, yeast, pepper, cloves, and bubblegum. Poured yellow/gold in color with a small, fizzy, white head that disappeared immediately. Cloudy. Full of tiny and large particles. Very sparkling. Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of pepper, cloves, yeast, slight ginger, slight lemon zest, and and grass. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Lemon, yeast, and pepper finish is slightly dry.
