| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Bottle. Wow. Wow, wow, wow. Aroma of dank, leafy, eucalyptus-like hops, lemon, light berries, hay, fresh cut grass, fresh cut thyme, all sorts of herbs and grains, a touch of sweet, light cake maltiness sneaks out behind all the grains. Flavor has unbelievable biscuit, bread, and most notably angel food cake malt with more dank hops, more grass and herbs, the fruitiness blossoming into a champagne character. This could be my new water. Please, Troegs, screw Sunshine Pils, make more of this one! Please! Awesome, awesome, awesome. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Aroma is huge on some citrus (but not C hops) and a big floral note. pours golden with a slight haze, and a pillowy head that laces nicely. flavor is softly malty, with lots of crisp bitterness, and a floral flavor, as well as a citus the is reminisent of mandarin oranges and other citrus. body is medium-lean, and dangerously drinkable. Awesome pils, I could probably drink one of these everyday. Pastor (509), Maine, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Thanks to Dim for another in the scratch series. I poured this one into my new Prima Pils glass, it produced a fingers worth of white head that lasts. The body of the brew was a slightly hazy pale yellow.
The aroma was a nice bready grassy and lemony hops, it was right on target for the style in my book.
The flavors of light refreshing citrus just bounce around my tongue, along with a summer grassy taste. You know when you were a kid and stuck a piece of grass on you mouth like a farmer. Nice and light in the mouth with great carbonation
I must say this is perhaps one of the easiest drinking brews I have had in a while. I could suck back quite a few of these and find it an enjoyable experience. This is one of the better scratch brew I have had great job Tröegs biznizness (952), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 29, 2009 My mom was holding a 6 of this since it came out for me. Very tasty pils, very creamy in the mouth and delicious. I guess this was more like a Czech pils? Either way, big thumbs up. GAManiac (1191), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 28, 2009 12oz bottle courtesy of sholland119 poured into a pilsener glass.
Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with tons of bubbles streaming to the top and hedding a smallish white head that hangs on as a cap and leaves spotty lacing.
The aroma is a little sweet for the style with a bit of honey sweetness on top of the toasted grains with hints of lemon and plenty of bready dough in the nose. Hints of light fruit sweetness in there too.
The taste has a little bit more lemon up front and has a definite toasted malt presence for the back but with some honey sweetness.
Mouthfeel is very creamy and smoother than most pilseners with soft carbonation.
Another solid pilsener from PA and one of the best I’ve had in the style recently. Highly recommended. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2009 Updated: Jun 14, 200912 oz bottle from Capones. Pours a very hazy light blonde/straw with a nice fluffly sticky white head and killer lace. Aroma is light lemon zest, herbal and flowery hops, with hints of bubblegum- tons of fresh doughy pils malts, and ligth crackery hints. Flavor is zesty and herbal hops- flowery, toasted malts, doughy bready pils, with a slight solvent lemon zest kick - light soap, yeasty dough, and continental noble hop floral and spicy kick. Clean and refreshing- dry and a nice medium bitterness. Kind of like an amped up sunshine with slightly different hops. kkearn (1012), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
