Commercial Description:
For the third scratch beer, we delved into our old Belgian notes and decided to go big for a nice warming feeling when you drink this beer,” says John Trogner. “This unfiltered golden ale is 10.1% abv. It is spicy and quite dry with a hint of noble hops. The yeast is the real flavor in this beer and we used a different yeast strain than we use for The Mad Elf. This yeast creates that drier taste.

From bottle, blindtasting #10. Pours hazy yellow with a diminished white head. Dry malty aroma, somewhat cotton like. Mild spiced and dry hoppy base flavoured, yet with a solid sweet malt base - clearly declining towards the finish. Light malty note. Dry and spiced finish, lasting bitter and dry impression into the far finish.

12oz bottle. Poured a lighter and cloudy yellow color with a smaller sized head. Lots of floaters. Aromas of spices, yeast, citrus, and fruity. Tastes of spices (though not as strong or in the forefront as the aromas), vanilla, fruity and had a candi sugar sweetness to it (but not overly sweet). Medium alcohol finish (but I would not guess 10+%).

Bottle thanks to axilla: Pours a transparent bright golden with a thin ring of white head. Aroma of sweet pale Belgian malt and doughy yeast with some peppery spice. Body starts with a nice biscuity malty sweetness and some light fruity esters before a drier, more bitter warming finish. Pretty authentic for the style and should age well.

Pours gold with a white bolloey head. Smells soapy and dry with some candi sugar and pepper. Tastes spicy and dry with some grassy elements and a nice touch of sweetness on the finish.
