Commercial Description:
Enjoy this as a token of our appreciation. With the demise of Tröegs Oatmeal Stout, this long-forgotten recipe serves as an inspiration and a heartfelt thanks to our faithful stout fans.

What’s special here? We start with a seductive malty sweetness, combine it with hints of chocolate and roasted flavors and round out the texture and taste with a healthy helping of oats. A three-hop blend brings perfect balance to the sweet malt adding a dry finish to this big beer.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma, faint chocolate and coffee, some dark fruits. Flavor, coffee, chocolate, sweet caramely sugars. Medium to full bodied, smooth finish.

Pours dark brown with a lasting tan head. Smells of roasted malt, chocolate, some dark fruit, cherries and spices. Tastes bitter and sweet with lots of caramel, roasted malt, intense molasses and some sugar. Some alcohol presence is there in a complimentary way.

Pours a dark brown color into the snifter that was lighter brown around the edges. No lacing to speak of. A weak scent of cocoa, cofee and malt. A rather thin taste with not much complexity...an easy drinking, almost sessionable impy stout if ever there was one. Very scary that this was almost 10% alc...I would have never guessed.

12 oz bottle via MYS SWAP 3.0 (GOT MULTIPLE bottles, thanks everyone). Looking forward to this one!! Pours a near black with brown edges and a large tan head. Nose is fusel alc and mild fruity easters. Tastes like it smells with a bit of roastiness and some pine and soy. Has quite an alcoholic bite in the finish. Body is medium and carbonation is high. NOTHING TO WRITE HOME ABOUT...

Faint aromas of oak barrel or perhaps oats, different types of chocolate, taste is light Hersheys chocolate syrup, with distinct coffee and caramel overtones, somewhat rich body ,spoiled only by a slight carbonic bite, that thins it out some, and detracts from the Oatmeal smoothness. Thanks Kingpin

Clear brown body with a small wispy tan head. Lightly sweet nose with chocolate, brown sugar, cola, oats and raisins. Lightly sweet, lightly bitter taste with lots of chocolate, oatmeal, molasses, roast and cola. Medium/full body is round with moderate carbonation.

Bottle, Black/brown pour with 1 finger thick beige head. Sweet Malt Aromas with hints of chocolate and roast. Same in taste but a little thinner then I like but had a good bitter finish. Not bad.
