Nejhleader (805), Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 2, 2008 I liked this one alot. kinda has a sweet malt taste to it, and something i guess the juniper berries give it the bulk of the flavor. Wish the still had some cases of this left.
GriffinAvenue (365), South Boston, Massachusetts, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Translucent yellow-urine coloring. No head. Juice-like. Yeasty, lavender, spicy. Assaults the nose, especially the peppery-coriander mix. Flavoring is much more delicate and not as in your face as the aroma. Best served semi-warm. I’m a fan. Ungstrup (11702), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 29, 2008 Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with fruity notes of peaches. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruit - again peaches being stronges, but also notes of ginger. Thanks Storm for sharing. bitbucket (1601), Kirkland, Washington, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle, thanks hopdog! Pours clear pale amber with a lacy white head. Sweet aroma of spice, cedar, flowers and fruit. Very creamy, silky medium body with a trace of fine carbonation. The mouthfeel of this beer is quite unlike anything I’ve ever tried before. Lightly sweet and spicy taste that isn’t too far afield from the pumpkin beers I’ve tried lately. Barely biter and lightly spicy finish... this one just fades into oblivion. I just noticed that the ABV is listed at 10.1! I never would have guessed. Papsoe (11073), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 25, 2008 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Storm. Hazy yellow with tiny floating impurities and a small white head. Very sweetish spicy and floral aroma. Medium body, a little low in carbonation with plenty of coriander and floral notes. Almost no bitterness. 201008 Grovlam (3325), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 20, 2008 Bottle. [Tasting @ Papsoe 20-10-2008] Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Light cloudy golden color. Aroma of herbal juniper berries, with a heavy flower feel. I imagine this is how tulip tastes like. Quite perfume like but still kind of smooth. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Light sweet flavor with a hint of bitterness. Flower like sweet herbal finish.
