| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 7, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber body with a tight bubbled creamy beige head that retained as a thin covering. The nose is big caramel malt with a nice accent of resiny hops. The flavor is really well balanced with heavy caramel malt and a nice resiny hoppiness that cuts the sweetness really well. Great lingering burnt caramel finish. Mouthfeel is great, full and soft with zero stickiness and perfect soft carbonation. Clearly the best of the Scratch beers to date that I’ve had. This was just so well balanced and easy drinking. Should have gotten a case of this. wetherel (1641), Encinitas, California, USA
