| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2009 Bottle... Pours dark – burnt orange when held up to bright light – with a small, creamy, khaki head. Decent retention. The nose is mostly grapefruit and pine, however, digging deeper, I came across plenty of brown sugar, caramel and toffee. Medium to full-bodied with tickling carbonation. Leans way toward the bitter side of balance – roasty, caramel sweetness overwhelmed by more-than-adequate, citrusy, earthy bitterness. Lengthy bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish. Bottle courtesy of scraff!
