Aroma is a blend of sugary(honey) and fruit(cherry) sweetness. The flavor is malty with another nice balance between the sweet honey and the sweet/tart cherry and finishes long and strong with more of the same plus some hop dryness on the edges. It feels thick and chewy, strong and long, sweet yet dry(hops).

Sweet fruity malts dominate this mule kicking brew. body is big and sweet. Pours a deep amber with ruby tones about the edges. White fizzy head. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 From a 22oz bomber, this brew is dim cherry red and tastes like a squeezed berry from a juice factory. Settles slowly at first with the ABV treking though the berry patch it came from like a snail. But the warmth from the fire exhausts the very so diligent comfort that the Mad Elf brings. A nice holdiay brew. beerbuzzmontreal (2917), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Clear red pour with a thin white head. Interesting aroma of cherries and honey. Good flavor of cherries, spices, honey and candy. The body is light with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from this beer, but it provided an entertaining tasting experience. BJP2006 (35), Washington, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Pours ruby red with a small rapidly dissipating head. There are lots of cherries in the aroma with some underlying malt, a hint of spice, and some alcohol. The flavor is sweet with dark malts, honey, and cherries. Tasty and full bodied, this winter brew will definitely warm you up. phaleslu (555), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Draft at Teller’s. Pours a cloudy ruby-red color with a 3/4-inch thick off-white head that goes down relatively quickly and leaves a film on the beer. Big cherry aroma, with notes of candy sugar, malts, yeast, honey, mild spices, and some balancing fruit- maybe light banana. The flavor didn’t have as much cherry as the nose, though it was still there along with caramel malts, yeast, candy sugar, banana, spices, honey, and alcohol. Interesting blend. Medium bodied, with a decent bite from the carbonation. Fruity, boozy finish. Nice winter beer, just don’t have more than one. TheGB (47), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2009 On draught at Beerrun in Charlottesville, VA. Beer is a rich honeyed amber, very clear. Fresh grassy notes over caramel and clove. Taste is gently sweet with lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper and molasses. Finish is smooth and just right bitter hops and acidity to balance the sweetness.
