| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Dec 26, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Potent coffee, subtle roastiness and underlying dark chocolate create a pleasant Coffee Stout even though the relatively svelte body and low carbonation tend to surprise the tastebuds.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the black gown with brown sleeves.
-The nose is of cold coffee. Strong, but not the freshest.
-The body is pleasantly plump, but could be richer (not fatter, mind you) for a 7.5% abv Stout.
-There is not much depth to speak of in the flavor profile, but this is a personable brew nonetheless if you like coffee.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a light medium brown foamy head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma of medium dry espresso with light roasted malt also noticeable. Taste is a nice enough mix between some espresso coffee and light roasted malt. Body is too thin for style with adequate carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Not bad overall but hard to compare when you taste so many huge IS; this one seems a bit thin in terms of body and taste. The aroma has notes of both sweet and roasted malt and chocolate, as well as light notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt and coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish. Smooth coffee herbal and chocolate flavoured, nice roasted malt base with no acidic touch. Smooth lingering dark malty flavoured into the finish. Lasting roasted malt and coffee impression. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Bottle, thanks Allen! Coffee, cigarette smoke and toffee aroma. Jet black, brown lip. Coffee in the foreground, cigar tobacco, vanilla, honey roasted almonds. Medium to light body, smooth mouthfeel. Coffee roast lingers on, turns into a berry mote on the finish. At first impression I found the beer to be a bit harsh, but after it opened up a bit it turned into a quite delicare brew flavorwise. daniele (1756), Italy

Full-bodied, malty and full of coffee flavours with a pleasant bitterness. No traces of the high ABV. Very smooth and velvety palate. A very exotic beer. Danke, Allen, für dieses Bier!
