Clear medium amber orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, orange, strawberrys, peat - rubber. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (060808)

Aug 14, 2008 Bottled@GBBF2008. Ambery golden colour, small white head. Aroma is alcohol, fruits, smoke, cheese and some nuts. Flavour is tar, smoke, sweet fruits and some burning alcohol.

Aug 24, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at GBBF.
Golden brown with a thin off white head. Lovely spicy malt in the aroma with good fruity notes and faint smokiness. Peaty and smoky flavour that could probably do with a little more malt but remains reasonably balanced. Restrained but pleasant enough smoked character with a spicy hint to the finish. Very clean and dry in the mouth. A reasonable smoked beer.

Pours nicely orange with a small, staying, white head. Aroma has light smoke, spiciness, caramel. Light carbonation, fine mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, caramel, light smoke, some spices, curry. Pretty nice and drinkable.

Dec 21, 2006 Small yellow head, fast gone; dark orange colour, lot’s of UFO’s. Shoepolish, varnish, very uninviting - to put it mildly - nose. Tarry taste, phenols abound, on the verge of absurd. Long aftertaste, but if there’s some alcoholburn, it switches to a Lapsang Souchong quality, nearly saving the beer. Sorry, but the onslaught is too terrible to drink freely.

Aug 14, 2008 Bottled - GBBF 2008. A hazy brown colourd beer with an off-white head. The aroma is spicy and smoky. The taste has decent smoke harmonising with a little sweet spiciness. Pretty nice.

Jul 30, 2009 Hazy orange with a big white head. Fruity aroma with yeasty notes and a little alcohol. Very sweet yeasty flavour with just a touch of bacon smoke.
