Pours light hazy amber with a nice, staying, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has caramel, light toffee, yeast, raspberries, oranges, light vinious. Some spiciness as well. Fine mouthfeel, slightly oily. Flavour is vinious, toffee, light spiciness. Coriander, lots of curry notes. Some ’hot’-ness to it. Really impressively balanced. Bragesnak (2281), Aarhus, Denmark

Amber with small head. Aroma and flavor of malt and spices. Though weak it seems balanced well. A note of sourness. nearbeer (1868), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Nice frosting left behind. Aroma is cherry and earthy spice; later some faint spicy banana appears. Initial flavor is cherry cough drop bittered by wood and pepper. Subsequent sips settle into a mildly bitter-spiced cocoa and raisin liqueur, with some hints of banana, clove, ginger and anise. Medium body is smooth, dry and lightly tingly. This beer has potential, but seems to have too many spice flavors that end up clashing and form nothing more than a bitterish paper aftertaste. Beerlando (2352), Orlando, Florida, USA

A foamy, off-white head settles to a thin blanket, scant traces of jagged line lace marking the glass. The aroma is very herbal, notes of coriander, dried flower petals, cinnamon, and ginger all showing through. There’s a lightly spicy pepper note in there as well, further livening what would otherwise be a rather boring candy sugar malt base. The flavor is a bit more muddled, the aforementioned elements sort of melting together into an undistinguished, weird herbal mush. If anything stands out, it is the spicy ginger, and there’s a slightly minty yeast note that emerges as well. The mouthfeel is on the thin side for such a big beer, but the carbonation is moderate and there’s hardly any alcohol detectable, which lends drinkabilty. This isn’t really my cup of tea, but it is interesting and certainly worth a try.
