Commercial Description:
Shangrila was the first creation from Birrificio Troll. It is of dark amber color and has a persistent head and with its 8.5 alc./vol. it warms the palate and the heart. Shangrila is brewed using malt, English hops and a mixture of spices from the Himalayas: tandori (Blend of coriander, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, ginger, cardamom, saffron), curry, pepper, anise. Shangrila is a complex full bodied beer with exotic scents and an intense flavor. Shangrila is a perfect companion for meats of every type, especially ones grilled over charcoal. It also pairs very well with fine cheeses.

Hazy, orange body. Very complex and overwhelming aroma of spices, liquor. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. Quite some complexity in the flavour. Very nice beer!

750 ml bottle from Knightly Spirits. Pours a caramel/amber color with 1.5 inches of tan head that reduces quickly. Spotty lacing. The nose is strong with grapefruit. Flavors are boozy with strong characteristics of bourbon, light fruits, subtle hops, spices, pepper, moldy shoes, and candi sugar. Bitter but well-rounded mouthfeel. There’s a helluva a lot of natural sediment floating around. By the end of the bottle, the brew resembles a clump of mud; looking almost solidified. Medium carbonation and body. Very interesting and complex.

It’s aroma is very spicy with a hint of malt. I really like the flavor- it’s very unexpected and seems like it would go well with chili or southwestern food. I think I’m done rating for the night. I’m drunk. :)

Ambrat di colore con discreta e persistente schiuma questa piemontese...aroma dolce e speziato di zenzero, forse un pò acido. In bocca è altrettanto speziata con richiami forse di the orientali.Ben bilanciata.Discreta.

LCRBM2. Cloudy dark copper colour. Souor aroma. Interesting vinous fruit flavours in mouth. Interesting. So alive in the mouth, spicey, quite dry on finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper with a two finger lasting rocky light tan head that leaves good lacing. Heavy aroma of spices with the anise really sticking out, bubblegum, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of spicy peppery curry goodness. Medium mouthfeel with a mild to moderate amount of bitterness and well hidden alcohol. Very good.

[Bottled] Cloudy dark amber, very rich head. Strong herbal aroma, where I get mostly nutmeg and cardamom. Sweet and softly malty with full body. Evident flavour of burnt malt, notes of spun sugar. Think Anchor OSA, but bigger and softer.
