Pours an opaque chocolate with a thick layer of rich tan head. Aroma is cherry tart and chocolate. Flavor is fruity, like chocolate covered cherries. Body is light but creamy with high carbonation.

Pours a very dark reddish brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts. The taste is roasted malts with a hint of chocolate... has a mild bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall I thought it was very good.

Bottle. Interesting Belgian style stout. Pours a black body with a tan head. The yeast give this beer a tart cherry pit and skin character, that warms with a hint of tart acidity. Chocolate malts, caramel and some sweet and tart cherry notes. A nice surprise.

draft from ginger man. Poured dark with almost no head. Taste was a pretty tame malty chocolatey.

Pours a cloudy brown ale color. Not really like a stout at all. Tight bubbles on a two finger head. Aroma is malt, dark fruit, raisins, some cherry. Not much roast or chocolate. this is more vinous than malty. Not bad.

Thick head, lingers and clings for a while. Aroma is a bit fainter than expected, but is definitely dominated by deep red fruits - cherries? - and some dry , roasted malts. Deep dark mahogany color . . . it was dark at the Muddy Pig, but the translucent red around the edges was still visible. Vibrant on the palate. As the aroma suggests, the taste is dry roasted malts with a good red fruit flavor (less distinguishable than I hoped -- tastes like aged dark cherries, but that’s more of an estimate than a definitive description). A bit bitter, but more so at the back of the palate - definitely a feature of the aftertaste.

Tap, Muddy Pig. Pours a deep hazy brownish red color with a medium head and lots of lacing. Flavors are bready roasted malts and deep ripe raisin fruits. There’s also a hint of spice towards the end. Finish is dry hop and hints of alcohol. Well done and intriguing for the style.
