| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Updated: Dec 13, 2009341ml bottle from an in-person trade with matt7215, thanks Matt! Pours a beautiful amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is just amazing, peat, cereal grains, worty awesomness, fruity and nutty malts, basically everything that rocks about these types of beers. Flavour reflects the aroma perfectly but takes it to a whole-’nother-level! A touch of Belgian milk chocolate and some mild hops in the finish but this one is so malt driven and I love it. Goes down pretty easy for something 6%. Amber ale? Maybe not, perhaps an English Strong, whatever it is it’s delicious! Reminds me in some ways like Rogue Hazelnut brown, and yet it also reminds me of Paulaner Salvator in terms of the malt structure, weird. I’m so impressed with this brewery so far . matt7215 (980), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 16, 2009 Pours clear, dark gold with a half inch head of white. Retention is short, and barely a trace of lace or head remained after two minutes.
Aromatics are mainly malt, caramel, and a hint of butter. Slightly husky and bready.
Medium bodied and a bit creamy. Light carbonation and slightly syrupy.
Doughy malt, drizzeled caramel, and a hint of butterscotch start off the palate. Some rounded honey notes pull through along with a smidge of cocoa.
Finishes farily quick with drying malt and a honey sweetness.
Big ups to NorthyorkSammy for the bonus brew!

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Not bad for this brewer, a neutral aroma. Significantly lacey and golden with good sized white head. Taste is akin to a basic old ale, with barley noticeable in the finish, lager and average mouthfeel up front. Warming alcohol. A bit drying. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2008 Amber with a small head. Bland taste that is livened somewhat by a nice malty blast. Finishes with a bit of bitterness and is instantly forgettable. But not unpleasant.
