Commercial Description:
An ultra-premium Bavarian-style wheat beer at 5% alc./vol. Yellow colour with slight, natural wheat beer haze. Subtle aromas of yeast and delicate ripe banana. Slightly tart and mildly malty with a perfect balance between flavours of clove and banana. Silky mouthfeel. Wonderfully refreshing and thirst quenching. Enjoy with fruit salad, seafood and shellfish, egg dishes, smoked meats, lemon and other fruit pies and cakes, and edam and swiss cheeses

Draught @ One Duke. Hazed, pale yellow with 1/4 inch thick white head. Not served in proper glassware :-( Mellow hefe aroma. Light citrus, some ginger ale, not a lot of banana here but comes out a lot in the flavor. Spritzy mouthfeel but slight stickiness and thinness finish. Lots of sweet banana, especially in the beginning of palate. Rounds out to almost lime-accented end.

I have only had this beer on tap. Apart from Cheval Blanc microbrewery’s wheat beer, sadly only available in Quebec, this is the (second) best white beer I have had which is brewed in Canada. I could say that "blanche de chambly" pales in comparison, but I personally find the latter perfumy and undrinkable. So, Wunder Weisse- Yeasty? Yes! Lemon? Mais oui! Isn’t that necessary? BUT Banana? That’s stretching the imagination, I’d say. Wunder Weisse is in my estimation a fantastic Canadian beer. Only the Cheval Blanc brewery beats it.

[1575-20080810] Tap. Banana wheat yeast aroma. Hazy, pale yellow orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Yeasty citrus lemon zest flavour. Medium body is zesty. Not bad.

Sampled at the C’est what spring festival. All the elements of a good wheat beer were present and at the time seemed just as good as Chambly. Although I had a few too many when I tried this, I did enjoy it.

Bottle. Hazy golden body with low carbonation and a thin white foamy head. Fair malty/hoppy aroma with light yeasty and citrusy notes. Taste is well balanced. It carries the same citrusy and yeasty hints as the aroma, and ends with a decent bittersweet finish.

Hazy golden, no head, trace of carbonation. Fairly refreshing brew with notes of banana, citrus, and bread. Lively on the tongue, with a little bite. Not bad at all.

On tap at The Rhino - came cloudy, opaque gold. Very sweet, almost candied aroma, like red licorice, but other than that, the usual hefeweizen stuff - citrus, banana, some light spicing. Flavours much the same - nice thick mouthfeel, but everything’s a bit too subtle. Short finish. Take the FAR superior Denison’s Weissbier if you’ve got the option.
