Dark amber with a thin white film. Nice grassy, almost US hop nose but very skunky. Flavour is similar but thankfully not skunky at all. Reminds me of a very mellow US IPA with a bit of extra malt. chriso (4852), London, Greater London, England

Clear amber colour. Surprisingly prominent tangy, fruity hop aroma for a Scottish 80/-. Perhaps the late additional aroma hopping accounts for that. More malty on the palate, with some smoky notes, although the mouthfeel has slightly ashy feel and falls away a little. Nonetheless it’s a pretty tasty, if not entirely traditional 80/-, although I have no problem with that as I am not a big fan of stingily hopped Scottish ales.

Spicy, herby hops. Slight honey sweetness, a little sourness, metallic fizz and low bitterness. Not bad. AndrewC (70), Canterbury, Kent, England

Red fruit flavours in the front of the mouth lingering into stawberry ice-cream. The finish though is of roasted sugar and a harsh bitterness. The finish grew on me but even by the end wasn’t pleasant. Shame as everything other than that was great.
