rampmaster (314), Alden, New York, USA Jul 20, 2008 Presentation: It was poured from a green 12oz. bottle into a pint glass. It has a very pale straw color that is very clear with lots of visible carbonation. The head is thin, white in color and fades out quickly leaving no lace behind. Its aroma has big floral nose with light grainy malts along with a light skunky smell. Despite the skunk in the aroma the flavor is very clean with mild floral and delicate grainy sweetness followed by a mild bitterness in the finish. It has an easy drinking light body with just enough fizzy carbonation to give it some life. Overall it’s a very easy drinking lager with a modest light flavor. Average.
thornecb (1734), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours bright gold into a snifter. Bright white head recedes to skim surface and hug rim. Skunk aromas. Crisp and slightly sweet upfront with a sour finish. Doesn’t taste as bad as it smells... carruthm (1109), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 13, 2008 Decent Chinese mass produced beer. Tsingtao means clear island FWIW. solid beer. VitaminR (421), Colorado, USA Jul 12, 2008 Caramel and hay nose. Frothy decent head, lemon gold color. Light malt flavor and mild bitterness, soft and balanced. Bubbly, lightish body, finishes slightly sweet but crisp. Very refreshing and easy lager. Cybercat (776), Georgia, USA Jul 11, 2008 It pours out a rather typical straw yellow, not impressive, but the white head is thick and fluffy and hangs around for a bit. Aroma is crisp and malty, typical for a lager. Flavor is malty with a surprising hint of fruit, making it better than most macro-brew lagers. Texture is smooth and pleasant. Not outstanding, but OK, good as a companion to a meal. Imaena (259), Portland, Maine, USA Jul 3, 2008 Bottle hundreds of times.
Water and locally mass produced hops. If in China go to this. It reliable and sits well with spicy western chinese cuisine if your in Hunan or there abouts. Why do they import this stuff to the US though? RedSox2004 (353), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Jun 29, 2008 Very light on everything. Small head, no lacing. Slightest of hops aromas. Hops, malt and rice flavors, but barely detectable. Decent carbonation. Good beer for a Chinese meal when you’re concentrating on the food. eboats (887), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottled.
