pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jun 18, 2007 Bottle. To me this always tasted like a carbon copy of Rolling Rock. Watery and not much flavor. What do you expect from a Chi-Comm beer? I am surprised A-B hasn’t taken over this one too. OJB (23), Dunedin, New Zealand Jun 13, 2007 The colour was very pale yellow amber, and there was a light head. The aroma had quite strong hops and wheat, and was quite dry. There was a fairly light biscuit and malt flavour, and it was quite dry with decent hoppy bitter finish. This was a fairly simple light lager, but quite clean. puzzl (2579), New York, New York, USA Jun 10, 2007 Bottle. Pretty average, bland, slightly ricey. Decently drinkable and unoffensive. SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 10, 2007 Pale yellow with 2cm of frothy white head. Lightly sweet, grainy malt with some subtle grassy hops. Light body, a bit more carbonated than balanced. Not much going on, buit what’s there is pleasant. Pairs well with greasy, spicy dimsum. fourxmate (10), Australia Jun 7, 2007 Drank enough of it during one hong kong summer week. Very much a midday and afternoon drink. Unbeatable value over there. A very light taste which doesnt hit much on the palate but hardly touches the sides on the way down. Allen (1282), Switzerland Jun 2, 2007 Updated: Jul 3, 2007Bottled 33cl. It pours a yellow beer with a fast diminishing white head. Nice aromas: Biscuitty, hoppy, oily, grassy, grainy. Indeed, the nose is quite nice! A graniy taste with some grassy elements. A hint of oiliness. Rather watery taste. Some oiliness comes through again just before a great dry, citrussy and biscuitty finish. A rather good lager! More than decent. berkshirejohn (1759), Bracknell, Berkshire, England Jun 1, 2007 330ml bottle. Golden colour; white head fades immediately leaving it rather flat looking and lifeless; watery, some hops and malt - refreshing. That’s all. On draft in Guangzhou, China:
Not my favorite in China (Pearl River), but it is close. I don’t really consider it beer, but instead fine quality H2O. I drink a lot of it while in China to kill any pesky bacteria growing in my stomach. It has a nice hoppy taste and reminds me of a mediocre version of Stella Artois.
