Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

330ml bottle sampled with Finn at The Hong Kong restaurant in Ipswich some hours after watching The Blues against Sunderland (3-1).
Pale yellow with nice clarity. White head fast diminishing. Nothing more in aroma than being refreshing. Flavour has sweetness of rice mix with some lemon in the end. By the way, very good food at this Chinese place (23.09.2006)

Hoppy scent. Light in colour. Barley taste, flat. Unimpressive.

12 oz at the evocatively named szichuanese restaurant in the id. pours a crystal clear slightly burnished medium gold. tons of sparkling nucleation columns and a fizzy, short lived white head. mildly skunky, somewhat corny aroma. fizzy, watery body with slippery bits here and there. nutty, corny, corn nutty and slightly skunky mid palate. mild finish. i happily inhale these at chinese places, despite a rather striking mediocrity. i always like to pretend i know how to pronounce the name like a real mandarin speaker. maybe that adds to it.

Golden color with small white head. Nice lager aroma of malts and a bit of skunk. The flavor was refreshing and smooth. Malty notes to go along with some noble hops. It leaves a pleasant malt aftertaste that isn’t too sweet. Other than the small skunk smell I couldn’t detect a fault in this beer.

Very light and grainy flavor. Slightly grassy and crisp in the finish, but not enough to be quenching like a pils. Fairly subtle beer overall, very clean and fizzy flavor. Probably goes nice with spicy food to clean the palate.

Pathetically weak and...pathetic. A totally lame, crisp and fizzy excuse for beer.

Bouteille verte de 355 ml. Arôme: Très légèrement "skunké". Odeur de houblon assez présente. Apparence: Couleur paille. Petit col qui disparaît vite. Faible carbonisation. Saveur: Très léger goût de moufette. Goût de houblon prononcé. Palette: Légère amertume agréable en bouche. (Rating #19)

Pale yellow, quickly deminishing head, no lace. No aroma. Neutral palate. "Refreshing" only in a macro-brewed pale lager sense. Absolutely nothing unique here.
