Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Hoppy, sweet aroma, bit of adjunct. Weak but pleasant. Bright amber color with slight head. Medium, watery body and medium carbonation. Crisp and refreshing. Slightly sweet with mild bitter end and after. A nice everyday beer, really good with spicy food.

My friend bought a bottle of this at papago. Poured some in a glass for me. Well a bitter beer that maybe to me it’s only purpose besides the free tee shirt is another rating.

I was gonna wait ti I went to a Chinese restaurant, but it was on sale. As far as generic country lagers go, this is definitely at or near the top of my list. Good slightly warm too, great for what it is.

Light malt nose and piss yellow color. Stale cardboardy taste. Thin. Not good.

Bottle at Green Mango (Thai restaurant). Pale gold with a good sized white head. Aroma is surprisingly not skunky - there’s some sweet malt in there, some vague lemony hops, a hint of rice. Body is light and crisp. Flavour follows the aroma - sweet malt, toasted rice, quick herbal hops. Not amazing by any means, but better than I remember it being. A good match for spicy and greasy food.

Pours light yellow with a pretty large white head that settles to about 1/4 inch and laces the glass on the way down. The aroma is kind of skunky. Maybe a little malt and corn in there but the aroma is really not that strong on this one. Tastes of sweet corn and maybe some rice come through in this one. It has a somewhat sweet aftertaste that lingers some. On the palate it is very carbonated yet somewhat watery and thin. Reminded me very much of the standard American brews like budweiser. Nothing worth picking up again by any means.

It tasted old, and had no desirable qualities.

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with this one, except that it is made in China. (Hey, aren’t they communist? What are they doing making beer? What is the relationship between those two things? I dunno.) Anyway, don’ t buy this at a restaurant as it is tooooo pricey for what you get.
