Tsingtao is dry, nearly flavorless, and generally unmemorable. It would be difficult if not impossible to make a distinction between this beer and any other mass-produced macro lager.
12 fl. oz. bottle at Chi Thai Restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Rating #980 for this beer.

This was perhaps the best bottle I've ever consumed in the states. Very light pilsener coloration, a bit fizzy. Floral nose. Floral hops also dominate the flavor. Rather nice, really, and very refreshing. Not a complex beer, but enjoyable. Very prone to skunking horribly though. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 26, 2003 Pale-yellow, fast-fading pure white head, and moderate carbonation. Initial smell was of that green-bottle skunk cloud that escapes immediately upon opening, like an evil, stinky, Chinese spirit in this case. After the spirit diffused, the aroma was of wheat, yeast, and some grassy hops. Flavor is rather bland... like straw and raw corn and the finish has a stale bitterness to it. A passable beer with Chinese food (or in celebration of Chinese New Year), otherwise this beer is pointless to drink. johndoughty (2159), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England
