Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Had this over Chinese food, which was probably not a great idea anyway. Fizzy, almost carbonated, light golden color, very little head or nose, and a dull flavor. Not impressive.

bottled: ive had this several times with my chinese food or sushi or even thai. good clean beer if your drinking spicy stuff...my friend call this the 'happy' beer, go figure. if you drink too many of them your 'happy'. this one has that kinda skunk smell to it always?? nothing to say about the look , its typical. however, the taste is a bit more sweet here then in the other asian style pilseners. and of course there is some adjunct taste going on...always a good guess would be rice. ya di ya da ya da.

Light gold with minimal head. Lots of carbonation. Finishes clean and hoppy. It's nothing special.

I must say that when I purchased this, I was a little distraught that it had modernised its retro label after a few decades of the old bland and yet homely font. Poured into a tall stein. Clear pale straw with a lot of irregular carbonation failing to raise any head past a bubbly ring. Slightly skunky, sour lemon and freshly mowed grass nose with a little haystack chaff. Lemonade and chardonnay white wine flavours in the mouth, very clean, light bodied and quite lively in carbonation. Finish is a little clammy, reminiscent of lemon concentrate. Very low grassy hop tones seem to assist the sour malt flavours, rather than alter them. Very light in flavour, clean and crisp, there was nothing really disagreeable about this one, and I suppose it has its place on a sunny Sunday when the grass is getting long. Thirst quencher and little else!!! (33cL bottle, 4.5% ABV, BBE 06/06)

Bottle at Chinese restaurant in Bayswater London. Clear pale yellow colour with large creamy white mostly lasting head. Malty aroma. Sweet flavor.

From a bottle poured clear golden color with a small head. Decent flavor, kind of watery with no real finish.
