Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Suprisingly a quite good lager from china. Nice refreshing beer. (Bottle 33cl 4,7 alcohol % in my version)

Not a bad beer, just not a very good one. If you need something to wash the General Tso’s down and nothing else is at hand, reach for this.

Bought this in it’s can form. The beer pours a nice gold color, nice amount of carbonation. The beer smells malty, the taste is bready with a good malt sweetness to it and finishes with a weak hop bite. This is a good pilsner style beer and I drink this regularly, it pairs very well with chinese food.

(03.28.06) 12 oz green bottle purchased from Tomokazu restaurant, San Francisco International Airport, CA and labeled as “Tsingtao Export.” Poured golden yellow with small white head. Frizzy carbonation. Sweet malt in the nose. Light bodied pils-style Chinese lager that starts with light malt sweetness and corn/nutty flavors. Finishes dry and clean with light malt fade. No discernable hop presence. This is a refreshing crisp lager that went well with salmon teriyaki. Relatively speaking, this lager is more flavorful than Bud but not malty rich and flavorful as Czechvar.

Full Bodied Disappointment. Rich tasting beer, yet, does not much for me. Mass produced attempt at quality beer, but acceptable drink with asian food and wash down drink.

Pours a bright golden color with a medium sized thick head. Medium carbination. Mouthfeel is almost creamy and the finish contains a slightly sweet, yet bitter taste. Not worth the hefty import price, but not a bad beer on its own.

I was introuduced to Tsingtao during a sushi dining experience. I found the flavor sweet and mild. The appearance is clear golden in color. Overall I place it as a refreshing & complimentary beverage for chinese or japanese cusine if you can’t handle or don’t like Sake.

Out of a bottle, it’s light, a little cloudy, quickly dispersing head. Aromas of grains, similar to American macro brews. The taste is nothing to write home about. Watery, but not bad. Goes very well (as it should) with Asian cuisine.
