Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Nothing interesting here except very nice hoppiness. It was a pleasant surprise: for this hoppiness I could forgive its blandness and lack of character.

Not a fan of most lagers...pours as expected...thin white head, nice and yellow :/ Skunky aroma with a hit of hops...MILDLY refreshing...it does go quite well with General Tsao’s chicken though...

Thin beer with off flavors. Not too appealing. This beer has a long way to go to be a drinkable beer.

Skunky aroma. Yet before purchasing, I took out a bottle and gave it a tilt. It stayed clear with no evidence of sediment, so I thought I was getting fresh. Pours a very pale yellow with a short lasting fizzy white head. Taste is faintly sweet pale malt and corn with a hint of hops. Quite watery and tasteless actually, but at least the skunk didn’t come through in the taste. Still, a total waste of $7.59.

One of my SAT analogy questions went like this: Miller Lite is to Yanjing as Budweiser is to ______. The correct answer was Tsingtao. As Chinese beers go, this one is not bad. It won’t stand to match any quality Western beer, but as the Chinese say, "ru xiang sui su" - do as the locals do, and in China, the locals really do enjoy this beer and regard it as China’s best. It’s even said that if you drink enough of this beer, you’ll be able to speak Chinese. Try it and see.

It’s the most common beer in chinese restaurants here in Greece. If well chilled then it’s ok.
