Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Light buttery aroma with hints of malt and hops. Very pale colour with averege head and carbonation (for a pilsner that is). Light fresh taste, with some hops in the aftertaste. An ok (chinese) euro-pilsner, that would have been very boring had it not been for the halfway decent hoppy aftertaste.

Solid beer. Pleasant. easy to drink. well-balanced. A good beer to drink with a meal. Not neccesaily to enjoy by itself.

12 oz bottle. Poured light golden color with thin white head. Little lacing. Aroma was slightly skunky, but detected sweet notes as well as some hops aroma. Taste was better than expected, slightly sweet and bitter. Kind of reminded me of a pilsner. Palate was somewhat thin however.

Can 330 ml:
Pours a clear light golden color. Head is big white and frothy but dissolves fast. It leaves a tiny ring. Aroma is lightly hoppy with german lager hops giving herbal and soft citrusy notes. Decent malty presence showing hints of cereal and fruits. Wait...now a little warmer I get fruits like banana...Belgian yeast? weird and unexpected. Flavor is surprisingly decent. Soft and fruity. Sweet without bitter counterbalance. Touches of vanilla, banana and fresh herbs. I expected much worse. This doesn’t taste like a cheap swill lager at all. Light body, watery texture. Low carbonation. Finish is short. Lagerish veggie aftertaste. Much better than I thought and went well with the chinese food (Chap Suey and Chaufan Rice)

(33 cl bottle at restaurant "Djingis Khan" in Stockholm, Sweden) Labeled 4.7%. Clear straw yellow color, white creamy head. Fruity and sweet malty scent with some marzipan. Thin watery malty taste. Low bitterness.

Pour was a crystal clear light golden color with a thin, soapy white head that left no lacing. Really rough aroma initially. Really acidic, almost cat piss like aroma comes through with the pour. Goes away as it opens up, but it’s extremely off putting. The flavor is a mild, sweet malt and a bit of yeast. Not terrible. Sweet finish that tried like hell to make up for the bad first impression the aroma gave me.

OK, chinese piss water. This is what they drink and complain about like we do with Miller Lite. If it is free, I;ll drink it, if I have to buy it....I’ll try the sake.

Pours a light golden color with a very thin head that doesn’t stay for the after party smells light and sweet, decent sweet malt profile, with a tinge of something in the finish that is slightly unpleasent but I cant quite define it. A simple refreshing beer, but nothing out of this world really.
