Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

A nice lager, but I guess we from the west only drink it because it’s from China.

Not as bland as I expected. Actually very refreshing with a decent sweet malty base. Almost no bitterness.

It isn’t a bad brew, but I wasn’t impressed. You can find plenty of American beers that are equal to this pilsner so why buy communist?

Light, wattery, but has a mild champagne dryness. It has sort of a rice taste to it. I can drink this stuff and it’s a got a potent kick to it, but I wouldn’t call it excellent. It’s an average beer- like a Chinese Bud-Light. Overpriced, but nice with a spicy Tofu dish. Little carbonation and light head. Pretty refreshing, but not exceptional.

I expected crap but this ain’t a bad pislner at all. Not too hoppy, which I find often spoils a pilsner. Light and refreshing.

I guess i had a fresh bottle has the nose was faint malt, no skunk around here. The taste says adjunct but the bitterness saves this beer, as it makes it crisp. Very light and bland body.

Bottle. Pours a lovely pale gold with a very small and ephemeral head. After just a couple of seconds I’m wondering if it was even ever there. Aromas of skunky hops assault me from a distance and closer inspection confirms that these are burying any other odors except for a few whiffs of apple juice that are scurrying for the exit doors. Flavor is poor... a bit of apple juice, some adjuncty-lagery malt and those damn hops seem to have fled while the getting was good. I’m not sure about this "spring water from Laoshan." I don’t really know if it added anything, and I’m begining to think it might be a simple marketing trick... Even so, if they handed these out for free at work I’d probably drink another.

This beer is a lot better than the average American macro-brew; it’s lacking compared with the average euro-import, or good American brews like Yuengling. Sweet but not offensively so, some hops and some bitterness. Overall my complaint is of the body--it is thin as water. If they made this one a little bit richer and fuller, it would be a decent beer.
