Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

Had this at a local chinese resteraunt. Wasn’t all that impressed but it wasn’t bad overall. If it was a choice between this and something like bud or mich on the menu, I would either choose this or water.. depending on what I was eating at the time.

Light bodied with peculiar, different sweet flavour. Still, nothing special.

Not as bland as I expected. Actually very refreshing with a decent sweet malty base. Almost no bitterness.

It isn’t a bad brew, but I wasn’t impressed. You can find plenty of American beers that are equal to this pilsner so why buy communist?

I expected crap but this ain’t a bad pislner at all. Not too hoppy, which I find often spoils a pilsner. Light and refreshing.

Straw color, thin head. Bland but not bad. A microscopic trace of fruityness and a little bit of hops. Thankfully, not a trace of skunkiness unlike other imported pilsners.

Smells vaguely floral and sweet. Pours a light golden with no head to speak of. Beer is a bit thicker than i expected, and is actually a bit sweet and decently balanced. Finish is watery. No real adjunct flavors, at least. Easy to drink and very very mild. I’ve had worse, and i could imagine sort of enjoying it in China.
