Commercial Description:
Tsingtao Beer has a pleasant aroma and a well-balanced taste. It has high-malty flavor and well-hopped character. Tsingtao is produced with spring water from Laoshan, a mountain area famous throughout China for the purity of its water. The domestically-grown hops used to brew Tsingtao are of such high quality that they are also exported to European breweries. Tsingtao also uses the finest yeast and barley imported from Australia and Canada in its brewing process.

I actually really liked this beer! But with a strength just greater than water you have to drink a lot of it to "get that happy feeling", which invariably means plenty of trips to the loo! Nice beer but...

Smells worse than it taste--and taste is not extraordinary. Very carbonated, making it more refreshing. Needs to be drank fast when you are hot and thirsy otherwise do not bother.

Gold color with small white head. Very little aroma. Modest malt flavor with very little hops. OK with my Flaming Phoenix.

frosted lager glass / surprisingly not that bad. i had it with my dinner at an asian restaurant called Aloha, in Decatur, IL. i prefer the food. there were actually some flavor, but i’m not remembering what it was; otherwise, it’s a bit sweet, and it’s active. rice? anyway... i’m guessing this would be cloying and anything that is far away from drinkable, if let to warm. drink it cold, and use it to wash down your food.

Light gold with minimal head. Lots of carbonation. Finishes clean and hoppy. It's nothing special.

Bottle: Quite surprised by this really. With typical pale gold hues and a scummy white head this looked like a standard pale lager. However, the saazy like aroma with soem enticing citrussy notes suggested otherwise. The flavour was somewhat left-field with some faint malts as a structural base upon which sweet citrussy tones were layered, turning into tropical fruit towards the end. Smooth and refreshing, the only real faults of this beer is that it isn’t particularly flavourful and that after half a glass one was left with a slightly sour aftertaste. Quite reasonable.

A lager like any other for the most part. Light tasting, only with a touch of bitterness at the finish.

Bottle and tap. Bottle is my favorite. Golden body. Aroma is classic lager yeast and sweet corn notes. Flavour is as expected, slightly sweet with some corn notes. Asked a chinese guy at Sanlitun, Beijing what TSINGTHAO means, and he reply was: "This Shit Is No Good, Try Another One". But it is not that bad i think.
