Commercial Description:
A German Style brown ale brewed with dark, rich Belgian specialty malts and domestic whole hops. The alt will have a dark copper color and will have a slightly fruity, bittersweet flavor. It is a beer for the more adventurous, for people with an appreciation for a beer with a rich malt character and a balanced hop finish.

Pours a thick sudsy head with a clear nut brown color and some shades of red. The nose is a but nutty with some hints of hops but nothing too intence. As you sip on the brew itself there is some indication of bitter hops but it all fades as quick as the beer slides down your throat. The body is full of some spice and I like how it is a refreshing beer. This would be nice to have right after a long day on the hill.

Thanks to decaturstevo for sharing this one. Dark brown, ruby tinged body that throws up an off-white head. Leathery malt aroma. Sweet overall with some sourness that leads to a tangy finish.

A dark brown appearance with a beige head. The aroma contains some nutmeg, caramel, and chocolate. The flavor is a bit dry with some caramel, chocolate with a nutty presence. This seems more like a brown than any alt Ive had but it was pretty good anyway.

Thin brown pour with no head, looks like a coke. Juicier bodied brew with toasted malts and caramel and vanilla touch. Dusty malty fruit character, with a souring, quiet finish. Decent brew.

The poor man’s (maybe average man’s...) Jackie Brown, with less aroma and taste.

From a 12 fl. oz. bottle with am expiration date of September. Presumably this is September 2008. Pours dark brown with a little ruby red mixed in. But it mostly brown. There is a beige, creamy head that stays around for a while. Aroma of cocoa, malts, and hops. Feels bold in the mouth. I can notice some hops in the flavor but it is not overpowering at all. Overall it comes across as crisp and clean. This was a nice brew.
