AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 23, 2002 This was a dark brown, with a very thin head, and a pleasant malty aroma. Hops were noticeably absent, as in a scotch ale. The predominant flavors were the malt, and smoked peat, which gave this its unique flavors. A pleasant change, and a style I haven’t often found in local microbrews.
