Sep 12, 2009 Caramel malts, some herbal hops, light citrus, floral, as well. Flavor has a much stronger hop bitterness than the aroma leads on, but the flavor is still dominated by the caramel malts. Still, some floral and herbal notes along with mild citrus tones. Very enjoyable, if a bit sweet overall.

Sep 4, 2009 This brew had a solid amber orange color, a small white head, and a smooth balanced taste. The dry hopping seemed noticeable, I don’t know why, but the hops were in there. Decent session beer and even better they donate some of the profits to the homeless! I wonder if that little part will change since I understand this has been taken over by AB.

Aug 7, 2009 Pours copper with a white head. Smells of caramel, tea, some grassy hints. Tastes of citrus and malty with some peppery hints on the finish.

Jul 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Cloudy amber pour with a big tan head. Sweet and grainy malt aroma with a bit of hop. Malty flavor up front, but quickly turns crisp and hoppy despite being almost a year old. Flavor was much better than aroma. Would like to try it fresh.

Jul 5, 2009 Pours with a large off-white head on a clear deep orange body. Strong aroma of citric hops with deeper undertones of earthy malts. Some orange hops too. Strong hoppy flavor with a sweet finish that abruptly changes to bitter. Good strong body

Having lived in VA/MD/DC region for a long time I use to drink this one pretty regularly, and I didn’t realize it had been retired, which explains why I haven’t seen it in a while....
Overall Impression:
Looking back on an old rating I had no comments but the score, so I’ll just score it for now. Too bad, because I do remember thinking this was an enjoyable brew.

Oct 9, 2008 12oz probably over cellared and a bonus. Seemingly low fill. Pours light amber with a tan head. Nose is full of muted hops matched with the taste. I’m guessing this would be much better far fresher.

Aug 8, 2008 Pours a light gold in color. Nice frothy head on the pour, but is quickly gone by the time I sit down with it. Plenty of sediment and "floaties" in this clear beer. Smell is reserved hops. Taste is the same. Really smooth and easy drinking. Pretty highly hopped for being just a APA. Decent beer.
