Aroma not as strong or full as I would like. Smells metallic.
Appearance is a lovely orangish amber color, slight head quickly dissapates. Moderate lacing,
The hops are overpowering in the flavor, and it’s hard to tste anything beyond them. Of course, I like hops and this beer is called Hop Pocket, so that isn’t a huge critiscism.
The beer is thin without being watery. Not enough malt notes for my taste.
It was aight for me--a little pitchy. cthulu81 (29), Woodbridge, Virginia, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 14, 2006 12oz. Bottle. It has a light hazy orange color with a beige head. The aroma is very nice, dominated by grassy hops with a scent of pine and fruit. It has a rounded taste of malts with notes of pine and a little citrus fruits. There is a good balance between sweetness and bitterness. It starts out with a fresh sweetness that turns into a smooth dry finish. The mount-feel is robust and rounded. A really nice beer! zebracakes (1216), Washington DC, USA

Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size lasting white head. Decent lacing. Nice hoppy aroma with some sweet malt to balance it out and a little fruit. Flavour of citrus and piney hops, sweet malt and a bitter finish. Medium bodied. A nice surprise, this was way better then I expected it to be, a very good APA. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2006 The pour is a nice golden color with a white head. The aroma is pine hops, and that’s about it. The flavor is hoppy with a some malt, but pretty one dimensional overall. However, as far as APA’s go, this one stands out with a better palate than most. brewblackhole (1384), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 29, 2006 Full, piney hop aroma,taste is primarily the piney hop,some malt backing,flavor doesn’t linger it seems to abruptly dry out,leaving the tingle of bitterness,not malty enough to be a pale ale,more an IPA unclemattie (2429), Georgia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2006 Golden in color. Pleasant hop aroma. With a name like Hop Pocket, hell just hop in the name, it would bite. It is a pale ale and that is all.
