Mild floral, grapefruit, hoppy aroma. Crisp, spicy hopped flavor. Medium bodied with some nutty malts. Pretty solid APA, but not the best. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 4, 2006 bottle- 1 year old- Pours a golden orange hue with a light frothy white head. Aromas of dough, a little hops, caramel, a hint of toffee, and a hint of roastines but a sweet roastiness. Mouthfeel is light bodied and goes down smooth. Flavors are directly reminiscent of the aromas with a little corn tinge. A light bitterness, with a dry clean finish. Maybe not that clean, but the flavor doesn’t linger for that long, and with this beer, that is a good thing. As I always say, as a session ale, this is poor to decent, but as a pale ale, this is far from such. stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 10, 2006 12 oz. bottle from Dilly Deli. Fairly clear, deep orange copper. Thin white head, drops almost immediately. No lacing. Aroma is not strong at all. Little bit of florally hops, little bit of bready malt. Just not getting a whole lot. Flavor is kind of boring and bland. Balanced, but not a strong sense of much. Little bit of bitterness in front and then some bready and caramelly maltiness in the finish. Palate is light and highly carbonated. As I rated I wasn’t sure if it was an APA or IPA. Palate is way too light for an IPA, and even on the light side for an APA, I guessed APA. Overall just a boring beer. I’m sure it could be alright as a session pale on a hot day, but it lacks character. The bottle makes is sound like a complex hop monster and it is not that. Reminds me of the other unimpressive beers I’ve had from OD (this one is contract brewed.) Also, the bottle says "krausened to condition in the bottle". WTF is that? I’m a home brewer and I have no idea what "krausened" is supposed to mean. It seemed filtered to me, there was zero sediment in the bottle and it was pretty clear??? Checked my bottle - bottled 01/30/06 - first how the heck can something bottled 1/30/06 be a "harvest" ale. Second, maybe the fact that I’m drinking this 3+ months post bottling is why I’m not getting the intense hop aroma and flavors that others speak of in their reviews. sayravai (3781), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2006 (Bottled) Hazy amber color with a small, lacy head. Aromatic-hoppy aroma with slightly roasted malt and hints of toffee. Very clean hop flavor with some malt in the background. Medium-bodied, bitter palate with medium carbonation. Easily drinkable, enough-hopped, quite balanced brew with a pleasantly low ABV - only drank at the wrong time (after some huge hop bombs). oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 9/20 | Apr 19, 2006 12oz. bottle. This beer never lives up to its reputation as far as I’m concerned. Sure, there are hops there but they aren’t very well applied. The malt is a bit musty and always seems a bit old and tired to me. These two aspects make for a not very pleasant overall product. The beer just seems like a worn out homebrewed pale ale with no outstanding features to speak of. Tmoney99 (4793), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 28, 2006 Bottle. Poured dark amber with a large frothy off-white head that lasted and produced good lacing. Heavy hoppy flowers and citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Same heavy hoppy bitter flavor with a long finish. Very good brew.
