Citrus aromas come off real fast and at first seem rancid, but after a few sniffs seem inviting. The first sip is sweet, very grapefruity, and a little bitter. Thi one’s oriented more towards sweetness and juiciness. There’s a little wake up in the finish but it’s rather like a very pleasant cocktail. Pleasant, could easily drink this all day. pjk33 (384), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA

Amber cloudy pour with a decent head that is lumpy and has big holes in it along with significant lace. Aroma is almost nonexistant - no, that’s not true, but it is hard to describe. Fuggles hops are my first impressing, but the brewer says no... very English Ale like with no outstanding, punch you in the gut characteristic in the nose. Interesting taste that is hard to place. Not sweet or tart, not salty, ..... this finishes with a hard bite on the sides and the back of the tongue that leaves as you cover your tongue with the next swallow, but erupts again as soon as the drink heads down your throat. I like this beer, but I’m not sure why. Not a great body to this and probably too much carbonation for the style, but it’s an OK brew. SmellGood (319), Memphis, Tennessee, USA

Nice hoppy citrus pine aroma. Very nice balance betwen the hops and malt. Not aggressively hoppy or sweet. Finish is pleasantly bitter and dry. Texture is tad watery, but overall a very solid pale, and great example of the style. One of my favorite session APA’s AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Dec 16, 2005 A rich, copper color with haze from krausening and a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of resiny citrus, juniper, cheesy lemons, white pepper hops with sweet, lightly caramelized malt and a dose of fruity esters. The impact of the aroma is stronger than the flavor. The cascades are in good balance with the mt. hood in the aroma even to the point where they somewhat dominate, but the mt. hood’s pepper and lemon dominate the flavor and the cascades almost do not exist. The overall flavor of the hops and malt is somewhat reduced by the hard water that strengthens the bitterness and creates a linear profile. The palate on this beer is about as perfect as an IPA can get. The malt and acidity fight endlessly with both of them vieing for control of an extemely long, mouth-filling, and drying finish. lethe (168), Stony Brook by way of Cincinnati, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2005 Slightly cloudy copper pour with substantial, stubborn head. Nose is instantly hoppy with sharp citrus and pine. Mouthfeel is a little light as is the body. Flavor is richly hopped in the form of a pine forest that yields ever so little to a bready malt sweetness. The hops have it, and for a regular pale it is neither overdone nor watered-down. One of the better American pales. MrManning (1653), London, Ontario, Canada

Hazy orange body, nice thick and foamy white head, that diminishes to a faint ring. Lots of nice lacing here. Blatant hops in the nose, oranges, and caramel. Bitter hoppy flavours co-mingled with lots of sweet malt and sugary fruit. Medium bodied, creamy smooth mouthfeel. A good session ale! Thanks Tim! pineypower (1104), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Very nice golden/orange apperance with a nice creamy head. The taste is hoppy with a nice balance of sweetness. A very drinkable beer.
