| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Lovely. Hoppy aroma, hoppy flavor ... and all balanced nicely with the malts. Superior to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, I think, because it is more assertive. A memorable ale, and one I’ll be drinking more often. Optigon (562), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Pours amber with a fine, white head. Aroma is rather hoppy with a moderate mouth feel and a solid hop flavor. RONCOD (106), Uledi, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 12, 2008 Cloudy amber color with no head on it. It had a slight caramel aroma to it. More hops flavor than I like. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2008 Well, my bottle says 11/30/07..made the end date by a month. Smooth with lots of non- soapy hops.Cloudy amber color. Hop aroma. Not a thick palate, but not watery. Good..I would have bought it again if it wasn’t discontinued. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2008 I have always enjoyed this brew, one of the go-to beers around D.C. for a good long while. Essentially it’s a robust golden pale that’s as heavily hopped as it is creamily malty, an East Coast analogue to SNPA. Hopefully it comes back in circulation. obguthr (1057), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Doughy, buttery, wheat, and pineapple nose. Dark copper pour with a medium yellow head. Quite complex flavor pine needles, orange, caramel, and walnuts. Marigold finish.
Much better than I remember from before rating. The quality has either improved or I’ve developed a much more appreciative palate. lightning9191 (82), Christiansburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Apr 16, 2008 This beer pours with a big head so be careful....this led to some emergency foam removal. The head does stick around for some time though. The ale is a golden color with some haze from the yeast in the bottle. The aroma is hoppy as expected with some malty sweetness in the background. The taste is hoppy, but I find it bitter hoppy. It leaves a bitter aftertaste, I think the best way to describe it would be like resin, which I would prefer to be without. Seems unbalanced in that regard. The body is medium with the right amount of carbonation. A good pale ale, but the hops might be over the top in this one. changeup45 (799), Orlando, Florida, USA

Orange-copper color with a nice foamy head and a pleasant floral hop aroma. Great bitter, dry, hoppy bite to this with light malt. Quite flavorful and very good.
