Pours orangey amber and slightly hazy with a huge off-white head that diminished at a leisurely pace. Aroma is dominated by citrus and floral hops, but also has some caramel malt sweetness evident. Nicely balanced flavor with a good malt backbone supporting the brash hops, lemon and herbs with a grapefruit finish. Medium body and smooth, easy carbonation. Another nice pale from Dominion courtesy of Bert! walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 12, 2005 Bottle. Lotsa hops, as the name implies. Nice creamy, white head from bottle pour. Intense initial hops boquet diminishes quickly. Light body, crazy hops in the mouth, almost effervescent without the malt there to back it up. Slight copper aftertaste, but balanced and clean. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 11, 2005 Had this on tap. Nice flowery hop aroma. Tawny, golden color. Head had dissipated by the time it arrived. Hoppy flavor overwhelmed everything else. Body was very light, not much to it. blatz (138), Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2005 Good -- agressively hopped. Beautiful coloration -- brassy golden ale with thick frothy longlasting head. Very tasty, but nothing compared to Stone’s which I had the very next beer. Wonderful aroma and great taste, although mine was a slight bit grainy. One to look for, although pretty hard to find for me. solaka (1), Pembroke, Bermuda does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 30, 2005 A fantastic IPA. Tremendous floral hops aroma and terrific taste. I only wish it was more widespread. I live outside the US and have had problems getting my local market to special order a couple of cases. 1FastSTi (2579), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 23, 2005 The aroma is definitely Mt. Hood hops. I don’t get the Cascade hops at all in the aroma. The aroma smells kinda like a Werther’s Original candy, and vanilla with some grapefruit hops. The appearance is a light hazy golden/amber color with a fully lasting thin, oily white head with good lacing. The flavor is kind of corn huskyish, spruce, and light citrus. More malts (like a honey covered biscuit) are present than hops. Is that what Mt. Hood is supposed to taste like? I wish I’d get more Cascade hoppiness in this one. The palate is medium bodied and slightly lingering. It does well, however... waeltzy (53), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2005 Bottle. Delicious smooth ale. Aroma is sweet and clean. Off-white head which does not last more than 30 seconds. The appearance is beautifully amber. Vanilla and red wine on the tongue. The hops balance very well with malt.
