Clear brownish amber, medium head. Hops dominates aroma. Balance is on the hops side for an APA, could definitely jump up to an IPA with it's dry back-end bite. Enjoyable if you are a hophead.

Great.Solid hop aroma/Nice fresh heady citrus/pine hops.Slightly hazy/deep gold/micro-particles.Very fresh(bottled 10-16-03)very nice hop bite.Dry hop finish.A good one to get real fresh(pretty much an IPA).Good head/lace.Less yeast at the bottom resulting in the perfect hop pocket.I remember this brew having an off-taste that is not there in this batch.Excellent at times but the batches vary..Bottled 4-29-04.Still very nice but seems to be off a tad in the balance I had enjoyed 6-7 months ago.Still a must try.You never know what your gonna get.

Deep gold as described, nicely lingering white head. Aroma is of bitter resinous hops, with some citrus notes. The taste is of pure hops, unencumbered by any discernable malt flavor. Somehow it still works. The Cascade on the finish starts to veer towards a slightly vegetal flavor, but is still acceptable. Refreshing for such a dry and bitter brew.

Pours a nice amber orange color with a very nice off-white head. Dense, lastingm and with great lacing. The aroma is quite fruity, pears, oranges, grapefruit, and some caramel. I used to think this was as hoppy as hoppy got, well times have changed. The flavor is quite malty, clearly making this an APA, there are loads of hops too, but things are very nicely balanced. Quite bitter, medium palate, with a lingering bitter finish. Quite good. This and the New River Pale Ale are two of the best APAs available
Old Rating - 8/1/2003 - 9/4/8/4/16 There are hops here, no doubt about it. Very floral/citrusy hop aroma. Sparkling orange with a nice white head. Tastes of hops with anought malt to round things out. Beautiful crisp finish with bitterness lingering. Very good beer.

I may be rating this a little high but I'm a hophead, and this beer is a hopehead's dream come true. Orangish color, moderate to low head. Flavor is a hop explosion somewhere along the lines of Stone Ruination. It has a nice citrusy flavor. Excellent beer.

The cascades immmediately reminde me of Sierra Nevada pale. Not a bad ale, actually a bit like S.N. Pale but heavier. Carbonation gave it a loose bubbly head that settled down in short time. Flavors not real strong but nothing adverse. Slight bitter finish.

This is a very strongly hopped beer. It will destroy your palate until you've finished half a bottle. The finish is very long with strong pine notes. That said, it's my favorite day-to-day beer but it definitely takes some getting used to.

A well made pale ale with massive hops. Am I the only person tired of tasting beer dry hopped with Cascades? Dry hopped with Goldings and this beer would have been perfect. As it is, I do enjoy this one a lot and drink it regularly.
