It was a copper gold color and formed a bubbly white head that that left some trace lace as it subsided. An aroma of hops was present and the flavor was of hops with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. Not a bad IPA, but once again, not one that will replace my usually IPA purchases.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2003 Cloudy Orange, with a thin white head. Hops on the nose, as well as some citrus. Starts off with resin and pine flavors, and a sturdy sweetish (fruit) malt base. Hops stay throughout, though, and pop up again in the earthy, peppery finish. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

Lunch - "Can I see the beer list?" - ooh, not bad - Oh, Tupper's Hop Pocket? - "I'll take 2 please" "No, just one glass.." Sweet and sharp hops up front, nice big malt presence. Aroma is floral, hoppy and grainy. The nice long finish makes me crave more. "Waitress, where could we buy more of this?" "At the Exxon Stop'n'Shop down the road" Oh Yeah - give her a nice big tip for that tip! A fantastic IPA. guzzler67 (1283), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 19, 2003 One of the most flavorful beers of this style that I have had the fortune of tasting. Of course it's hoppy - nose, palate and finish. But the hop taste is in balance, not overwhelming. And the malts are lurking in there. Crisp, lingering bitter finish. Very refreshing. chronictonic (403), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2003 Excellent APA. More hop flavors (though not aggressively bitter) than some of the other big APAs (Sierra, Stouts etc.). Good balance - very drinkable. Inexpensive too ($90 1/2 at Shangy's).
