| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2007 Not really sure if I should even drink this, but I’m gonna give it a shot either way, I found this in my store buried in a box of random singles that are at the latest from ’04, this one happens to be labeled ’04. Mind you, we don’t have the greatest storage conditions off of our sales floor. Well, here goes nothing. Right off the bat, the appearance and aroma are great. Looks like dark apple cider with a bubbly white head, and the aroma is of caramel, sweetened grapefruit, and only slight oxidation. Overall light flavor with straight forward earthy/bitter hops with a nice caramel backbone, and just a hint of grapefruit, and fair but obvious oxidation. Not too bad for a 3 year old brew that I wouldn’t think has the capacity for aging. Palate is medium, earthy, slightly bitter, with just a bit of lingering fruitiness lingering. Well, I guess that was a fairly pleasant surprise. Maybe I’ll get a chance to try this fresh some day. bbbrew (183), Washington DC, USA

Decent hoppy aroma. Easy hop flavor. If I had to drink 1 beer, I would not choose this beer. If I had to drink 10 beers, I may choose this one. Very drinkable. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Bottled 5/30/07. Poured clear medium orange with a short-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up drier floral and grapefruity hoppage over caramel sweetness.. some Amarillo-like hops as well (even though not listed) detracted a bit from the enjoyment. The flavor had sweet, lightly-toasted caramel with lightly sour pine and cat pee hops.. the hops were quite aggressive, and the balance was just OK. Medium-bodied with lower carbonation.. almost a syrupy feel on the front half. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Tap at the Dominion Brewhouse. Clear auburn pour. Creamy white foam that sticks in sheets like a handpulled cask. Cinnamon, caramel, and fruity soap in the initial, dull aroma. Indistinct berries, barren wood and a chemical whiff of band-aid. Taste is thick and biscuity under a heavy weight of crystal. Smooth malt layering with papery bitterness, finishing with a tasteless but thick coating of wet plywood and cardboard. Smooth and fairly full palate, though lacking the hoppy shine. It seems that the keg is almost out, or the line is pretty dirty. Still drinkable; an english style session. Fish (439), Kure, Japan
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 12, 2007 Deep orange body, medium, lasting head. Aroma is very malty and citrusy. Hops become more dominant as the brew approaches room temperature. Delightful. Drink this before Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Cybercat (797), Georgia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Pours an orangy amber with a fairly thick head. Aroma is strong and malty with a hint of saltiness. Flavor is malty, with strong hop bitterness that is unpleasant and biting rather than stimulating. It has a rather strong alcohol edge even though it is only 12 proof. Maybe I got a bottle from a bum batch; I will have to try this again.
