Cloudy brownish iced tea appearance. Surprisingly less hoppy than I expected on the palate. Tho there is this mild grapefruit peel effect that is tempered by a chocolate feel that is indescribable. OK, now the bitter hop bite is beginning to manifest itself on the palate. Also has an artificial plastic taste about it. Good decent carbonation that is welcomed. The hop bitter bite keeps building near the end of the session and it ends with a finish that is a lingering bitter medicinal feel that hangs around for a while. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

The aroma is bold and inviting with the perfect level of bitterness providing a unique flavor and after taste. I discovered this gem in the late 90s when I lived in Annapolis. A dear friend living in Herndon, introduced me to the bottled version then taking me to the brewery. Every where I travel, I look for it, but am sad to report, with little success. I now reside in South Florida, love Tuppers cant get it but make it a point to to have a few when in the DC area. Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA

Pour is a slightly hazy orange-red-yellow with a nice off white head. Aroma is cascade hops right away, and not much else. The taste reveals a bunch more, the hops start rather bitter and mellow quickly into a nice malt backbone and finish with some orange rind. There is some cocoa or caramel sweetness in there as well. Extremely drinkable, a nice beer. Thanks Santa. BrewmeisterEd (59), USA

Solid color and nice head that maintained a bit longer than most... gotohelunc (475), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 26, 2007 Bottle. This is exactly what a APA should taste like in my mind. Interesting floral hops aroma. A cloudy golden color underneath a tall white head that stuck around surprisingly well for a pale ale. I just love the flavor...high quality hoppy bitterness, roasted grains, then some subtle malts come through on the finish. The extreme hop-forward style really reminds me more of an IPA than a APA, but either way this is one of my favorites and would be a near perfect session beer. cking (1023), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Elegant bouquet of flowers and fruit, firmly delicate. Well planned hop additions help create a great aroma. Strikingly deep, rich auburn-copper color. Filmy clean white head with spotty lacing. Good body, nice bitterness. Very drinkable at a moderate pace. Highly hopped and extremely flavorful primarily flowers and citrus fruit. Tasty malt that’s nutty with a light caramel sweetness. Well balanced, a nice "anytime" ale.
