Commercial Description:
Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Pils is made via a complex hopping schedule which includes dry hopping for weeks over whole-flower Saaz and Mt. Hood hops. Also used are Saaz, Mittelfruh, Spalt and Mt. Hood in the kettle. The beer is bottled and keg conditioned which provides very fine carbonation and a fine head.

Poured a hazy golden color with a large white head with big bubbles and . Lemon creme, grassy, straw, German hop aroma. Smooth hop taste, earthy grassy, clean and refreshing. A beautiful example of a German style pils, brewed in the US.

2004 bottle compliments of bucknaked. Good bright pale gold pour, small white head with sediment in the bottom of the glass. Aroma of pils malt, light herbally hops and grass, an ever so faint amount of sour yeastiness. Flavor is crisp clean, fresh and hoppy. Lots of lightly spicy saaz mix with a touch of mt hood on the finish to produce a good amount of bitterness. Great delicate backbone on it as well, smooth, creamy and warm honey flavors. Light zesty carbonation, medium body. Drinking this stuff ice cold is about as refreshing as it gets. It gives a wonderful bitterness, great body as you swallow it and then a malty finish. Superb.

Pour is golden with a nice soapy head. Sharp carbonation with a good hop character. Great flavor, but not quite as good as the Hop Pocket Ale. Delicious all the same

Pours the color of a pale sunset with large head of tightly packed bubbles that quickly coalesce and diminish its size. The aroma is barely there, but can definately detect strong hops. Nice smooth palate, initial bite gives way to a mellow openness expanding into the throat. Taste puckers, lots of hops, but not much else, kind of one-dimensional.

Bottle. Very pale-golden, cloudy, with a medium white head with good retention. Aroma is sweet, and unusually citrus in the nose. Well, it is a decent beer, but by no means a pilsener. Too much on the dry hoppy aftertaste. Lacks crispness. Citrus overtones in flavor. Pale ale is a good comparison.

Bottle: Pours to a straw/golden yellow color with a large white head that lasts. Stronger hops than expected in the nose with some grapefruit and light citrus notes. Flavor has lemon, citrus, pepper, flowers finishes nicely bitter. I found the hops to be just a bit too close to an IPA in taste, aroma, and finish; a bit too much for a pilsner. Not bad though.

Bottle: Aroma is cirtus with some spice and some grapefruit hops. Pours a very pale, dull, and hazey yellow with a huge white head with great retention. Excellent lacing. Flavor is rather lemony with a slight bitter finish. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and short lived. The balance between the lemon and the hops make this a pretty good beer.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a big white head. Some noble hops in the nose. Tastes suprisingly toned down, though. I was expecting more hops flavor and a higher IBU than what it tasted like. I know it’s a pilsner, but the New Holland Full Circle tasted much hoppier (and better, IMO).
