Commercial Description:
Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Pils is made via a complex hopping schedule which includes dry hopping for weeks over whole-flower Saaz and Mt. Hood hops. Also used are Saaz, Mittelfruh, Spalt and Mt. Hood in the kettle. The beer is bottled and keg conditioned which provides very fine carbonation and a fine head.

Bottled 03-07-07. Cloudy light golden with a medium head that disappears. Aroma is metallic, lemony herb-bittered honey. Flavor is honeyed, malty cereal on the front, turning to lemony, bitter grassy herbs on the end. Nice dry bubblegum aftertaste. Palate is light, tingly, and dry on the finish. Not a big fan of the style, but this is one of the best American pilseners out there

Aroma is hay, quite a bit shitty, with a banana overtone. Pour is hazy golden with a thick snow white head. Taste is beans, some grain, some bitter hops. Finish is literally very shitty. Hidden carbonation over powers the taste. I had this years ago and didn’t like it. Now I remember why.

12oz bottle. Pours an effervescent, medium yellow color; fluffy white head with web-like lacing. Light sugar and citrus in the aroma; a hint of warm, bready yeast. Lively, fluffy carbonation in a medium mouthfeel: crisp, slightly bitter citrus presence with a pleasant bready character underneath. Nice, clean pilsener with some depth. Medium, citrus and bready finish; slightly dry.

Light hop aroma; seems fruity. Brassy gold color with a white head that sticks around. A light apricot or nectarine aroma as the glass approaches the lips. Carbonation is smooth and mild. Starts with sweet fruit. A bit thin bodied. Perhaps both floral and fruit hop. The finish is a bit astringent, and well balanced with light sweet and light bitter. This could pass for a pale ale.

A nice bold pils, balancing moderate doses of malt and hops to give it a full character. You couldn’t ask for a better summer beer.
