Commercial Description:
Tuppers’ Hop Pocket Pils is made via a complex hopping schedule which includes dry hopping for weeks over whole-flower Saaz and Mt. Hood hops. Also used are Saaz, Mittelfruh, Spalt and Mt. Hood in the kettle. The beer is bottled and keg conditioned which provides very fine carbonation and a fine head.

Very buttery palate, smooth with a light hop. light head and carbonation, more hop as you work your way through. Lighty golden color, obviously unfiltered, with slight cloud. (Bravo Bob!)

Bottle. Never been a huge fan of pilsner, but this one was absolutely fantastic. Light golden color, with a pretty foamy head. Very smooth and finishes pretty dry. Extremely crisp and is almost as good as the Hop Pocket Ale. Original rating is a 3.2 before I re-rated this beer.

Bottle courtesy of Immy. Bottling date 090905. Poured a clear golden color with an inviting white head that mostly diminished and left light lacing. Nice hoppy aroma with grass, lemon, and floral up front and a malt background. Great hoppy flavor backed with malt hints. Light body with a dry texture. Slight bitter aftertaste. A wonderful Pilsener.

The Old Dominion Brewing Company of Ashburn, VA is with out a doubt one of the nation’s finest microbreweries. Here is a brewery that is giving the people of Virginia a great variety of beer styles, and beers they can be proud of. Such is the case for Tupper’s Hop Pocket Pils. This beer is a keller bier or cellar beer. It is an unfiltered pilsner that has a wonderful, vibrant, bitter Saaz hop flavor and aroma. Saaz hops have that very zesty, spicy, "fresh cut grass" character to them. They are in this beer in abundance. This beer is also keg and bottled conditioned, giving it a very lively carbonation. I love this beer, I always get a pint at the brew pub attached to the brewery, and often fill my growler to go with this beer. Tupper’s Hop Pocket Pils pours to an opaque, bright yellow color, with a nice white head, and very lively carbonation. The nose on this beer hits you from a mile away, SAAZ, SAAZ and more SAAZ. Very fragrant zesty, spicy hop aromas flood the nose. The palate is a very crisp and clean malt back bone of pilsner malt, biscuit like and grainy. This is a lager, so it is very round, and clean on the tongue. The finish, as intense as the nose. More wonderful, long, dry, zesty, "fresh cut grass" hop bitterness tattoo the taste buds and linger for quite some time. You love hops? You’ll love this beer. This beer is the perfect aperitif, as dry as a martini. I would match this beer with very spicy fare such as Thai, or maybe extra hot Buffalo wings. This beer is very vibrant, and is just bursting with intense hop aroma and flavor. Really a wonderful beer, from a wonderful brewery.

Plenty of bitter floral, biscuit character on the nose. The bitter saaz is well balanced with the other hops in the aroma. Nice pour from the bottle with a great golden color topped off with a fair head. Flavor is well crafted and nicely balanced between the bready dry malts and bitter grassy, floral hops. Crisp and complete with nothing really getting in the way of this enjoyable brew. An excellent Pilsener fit for any almost any occasion.

Cloudy golden with a nice white head. Lots of taste for a pilsner. Bitter with a fresh hop feel.

Thanks Immy for hooking this up! Sparkling gold, with a frothy white bleached head. Super hoppy aroma, cascade (?), american hops, lots of malt and a fine citrus backbone. BItter hops in the mouth, sweet, and balanced. Quite dry, with a nice hoppy bite in the finish. A nice pilsener! Thanks again Immy!
